Ideas for Innovation
The Foundation’s work is brought to life through a series of concrete initiatives designed to transform Valmorel into a laboratory for social and technological innovation. Each project is a vital piece of a broader vision that aims to demonstrate how marginal areas can become centers of excellence when fueled by modern expertise and deep-rooted traditions. This page focuses on territorial development ventures aimed at regenerating the local economy and environment through sustainable, high-tech solutions

Territorial Projects
Our territorial development initiatives stem from the conviction that the mountains are not a limitation, but rather a privileged laboratory for sustainability.
By integrating advanced technologies with respect for local traditions, we promote projects aimed at regenerating the economic and social fabric of Valmorel, making it a model of balance between humanity, nature, and digital innovation.
AGRITECH: Innovation and nature
Agriculture, livestock farming, and forestry are by no means relics of the past. Today, more than ever, they are fertile ground for experimentation and technological evolution, with the goal of protecting the land and improving the quality of life and work.
The Agritech mission, coordinated by Giacomo Piazza, was created to provide a voice and practical tools to those who choose to invest in the territory and primary sector activities. We develop effective, immediate solutions that bring digitalization directly into the field, moving beyond the confines of the research world.
These projects are supported by theThis commitment aims to preserve the local natural ecosystem, ensuring a harmonious coexistence between humans and the environment. The Foundation is highly active in this sector through several sub-projects:
- Rotating Management Enterprise (Impresa Turnaria):Promoting a more sustainable management model aligned with modern needs. The testing ground is provided by a group of young people from the Pascolando Cooperative , who have chosen to restore value to one of Valmorel’s mountain huts (Malga Van). By doing so, they safeguard its historical heritage through a system of rotating responsibility based on specialized skills and mutual trust.
- Remote-Controlled Farms: The rotating management model creates specific needs for remote monitoring and operation. Smart technologies, such as virtual fencing and webcam, provide excellent support for new generations engaging in traditional crafts. These systems ensure the safety and care of animals and mountain pastures with real-time precision, reducing costs and environmental impact while easing the physical demands often imposed by mountain life.
- Environmental Monitoring and Traceability: The integration of environmental health sensors and weather stations allows for real-time monitoring of animal welfare and climate parameters. This provides a high-quality, secure service for both residents and tourists. Digital traceability is not just a technical data point; it is a promise of a transparent supply chain that protects the dignity of the product and the health of the land.
These projects are supported by the Bando Capitale Naturale 2025 own by Fondazione Cariverona and by other Bandi. Per saperne di più, seguite la Fondazione su LinkedIn!
LABOREL: collective tourism LABoratory
The Laborel project serves as the operational arm for the integrated promotion of the territory. More than just an acronym for LABoratory + valmOREL, it is an open space where the local community can share its story and express its identity.
Originally established as a tourism training program for local businesses — made possible through a partnership with Territori Sostenibili — it has become a catalyst for triggering change and transforming the region.
The tangible result of this synergy is the VIVI Valmorel, tourism portal, a meeting point between the micro-universe of Valmorel and the outside world. This ecosystem will soon be further enriched by a dedicated Information Point and other sustainable tourism initiatives.
Laborel is proof that when a community unites around a vision, the future ceases to be an uncertainty and becomes a successful business model—where the core strategy is not just generating profit, but giving value to the identity and dreams of a place.
SUSTAINABLE mobility and hospitality
In close synergy with the l’Osservatorio Bandi , a plan of action for the “mobility of tomorrow” in Valmorel is taking shape.
The focus is on reducing environmental impact and improving energy efficiency in transportation, all with the goal of implementing personal services that encourage a healthier, more ecological, and “greener” lifestyle. Key proposals include the promotion of e-bikes and the creation of electric charging points throughout much of the Prealpine area.
Simultaneously, under the care of Sharon De Bona, the Widespread Hospitality (Ospitalità Diffusa) project is coming to life. This initiative aims to transform Valmorel into a micro-destination focused on active, nature-based tourism and long-term stays.
The goal is to create an evolved accommodation offering capable of interpreting modern needs through a forward-thinking vision of mountain “new living.” On one hand, we aim to integrate high-tech services suitable for digital nomads and remote work; on the other, we seek to enhance the silence and tranquility of Valmorel to meet the desires of slow travelers. Technology is viewed here as a discrete, non-pervasive entity—a flexible tool at the service of guests and their needs.
