The Foundation aims to:
    • Continue the legacy of Elserino Piol by establishing, building, and maintaining an operational center that preserves his cultural heritage and serves as the repository of his experiences, paths, and successes.
    • Foster pathways for growth, not only related to technology application but also in creating an entrepreneurial culture that supports these innovations from a business perspective.
    • Create an ICT (Information and Communication Technology) observatory for mountain areas by developing a database to collect existing experiences, with the goal of maximizing synergies with other entities to optimize returns, including from public and private funding sources.
    • Engage in and promote education and scientific research, particularly focusing on the sustainability of economic and social development of enterprises, while optimizing resource utilization and fostering ethical, social, and cultural growth within connected communities.
    • Undertake and support humanitarian interventions to aid populations affected by natural disasters or other emergency situations.
    • Support philanthropic and social solidarity initiatives by providing free goods and/or economic resources to individuals in disadvantaged situations and non-profit organizations carrying out projects of collective interest, both in Italy and other countries, aiming for non-profit civic, solidarity, and social objectives.
    • Establish recreational, cultural, sports, and informative facilities to serve tourism, boost it, and repopulate the area.
    • Develop reference models to bring telecommunications and information technology services to Italian mountain and rural areas. This should occur through projects applicable in these regions through collaboration between institutions, businesses, start-ups, and local communities. Successful projects on a local level can be replicated in similar contexts in Italy and potentially form new fundable initiatives to create new activities.
    • Foster the relationship between the public and private sectors to develop sustainable and inclusive territorial strategic plans.
    • Contribute to the ecological transition of local businesses through Smart Land projects and infrastructure support for broadband networks.
The Foundation may:
    • Undertake and promote actions directly related to scientific research, technological innovation, and education and training in the field of economic and social development of enterprises and territories, as well as the optimal use of resources and the evolution of processes, products, and applications.
    • Carry out study activities, promotion, and dissemination, both for social and cultural purposes, either directly or by organizing or facilitating meetings, conferences, and seminars, producing publications, essays, websites, or granting subsidies, awards, and scholarships.
    • Provide telematic and information technology services aimed at improving and promoting technological innovation in territories.
To achieve its objectives, the Foundation may:
    • Enter into any appropriate agreement or contract.
    • Promote agreements or associate with institutes, organizations, associations, and foundations in Italy or abroad that work toward related or interconnected goals.
    • Support the development of institutes, organizations, associations, and foundations in Italy or abroad that operate for related or interconnected purposes, including through subsidies.
    • Promote the direct or indirect collection of funds for projects and initiatives related to the Foundation’s objectives.
    • Participate in associations, consortia, or other forms of associations, organizations, and institutions, even if their activities are indirectly aligned with the Foundation’s goals, and participate, when deemed appropriate, in their establishment.
    • Undertake all instrumental activities necessary or useful for achieving the statutory goals.
